Students from across Long Island will join their teacher and sings songs from the heart, musical theater to pop!
Sea Cliff’s own Jimmy Moore has been singing and performing his whole life. Now, he’s privileged to be part of The Sea Cliff Arts Council as a resident voice teacher.
Born and raised in Great Neck, Jimmy was exposed to music by his musician father, who proficiently played several instruments and was a composer. Professionally, Jimmy got his start in Boston, playing clubs in his top 40 band, Moore Music. He gained experience and learned his musical chops by performing live, in venues in the Northeast. Eventually, he sought serious training and obtained a degree in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory of Music. He is also a proud member of Actor’s Equity, the Nassau Music Educators Association, and an author of his soon to be released book: “I Hate My Voice but I Love to Sing.”
His approach to singing is very positive. He is an expert in all styles: rock, pop, jazz, opera, and musical theater. He teaches almost all ages and believes in helping students improve their breathing, posture, diction, projection, vocal range and stamina. He is an expert at proper vocal technique, vocal heath, the changing voice, and audition techniques for school shows, community theater, college performing arts schools, and professional auditions. Jimmy teaches sight reading and NYSMMA preparation.
The Jimmy Moore Method of teaching evolved over a lifetime of teaching and performing and is a fun, creative, approach that Jimmy teaches; not necessarily teacher to student, but artist to artist.
